All Dogs Go To Heaven Two

Last night I dreamt of my golden retriever Ruby who I had put down exactly a year ago.  It was an emotional day, no one loves you like a dog, it is unconditional. Her presence is sorely missed, the other animals grieved for her as well, and if I speak her name they look up at me longingly with anticipation.

In my dream Ruby spoke to me in English.  This is not the first time she has done this, yes; she was truly an amazing dog who could speak my language! Once before while she was alive she came to me in a dream and asked me “Are you sure you know what you are doing?” To this day this makes me laugh, what a great question from a beloved pet. And of course my answer is still “No!” But I digress, last night she came to me and told me that she was “Just fine!”  And she was, radiant in her ruby red fur coat, sparkling brown eyes, and wide canine smile.  The afterlife has been a good place for her, she is whole again, no longer a metamorphosis of half camel half dog, as her back tumor would have had her in this life.  She is perfect and vibrant in God’s world, as all God’s creatures are who return to his LIGHT.

I am ever grateful for her friendship, the memories she gave us and the love she provided in my home to my three boys.  True friends never go away, they just fly home.Image
