Peter Dinklage and Liam Neeson have found themselves diametrically opposed over the current issue of Horse Drawn Carriages in NYC. Mr. Dinklage being of the mind that it is inhumane to continue the practice and Mr. Neeson of the mind that horse “are happiest when they are working”. NYC finds itself embattled in an issue that indeed has merit from both sides, but I for one cannot understand though how one could use their celebrity in such a manner when the world is full of injustices of humanity.
Just last week a girl’s school in the Nigeria was ransacked and all the girls removed and “Taken” hostage. Liam Neeson, ah, isn’t that your forte?
The continuing war in Syria, well into its “forth season” continues with the use of chemical weapons again. Mr. Dinklage, where’s Tyrion when you need him?
Or am I confusing fiction with reality? Alas.
But it seems to me that when you are a high profile personality with the “power” that comes with that, God given by the American people who adore our celebrities, why wouldn’t you involve yourselves in something far more important than mere horses. Yes, I said it; humans need more help than horses. When is that last time you saw a horse hold another horse hostage? Or kill another one of its own?
We need help!
If humanity took care of its own, then perhaps we would take better care of the animals as well. I for one, being a NO ONE, find solace in prayer. I pray for the people of Syria, I pray for those school girls in Nigeria and I pray for humanity. Prayer is my power, even if I am “Unknown”.
