We are never alone, but we must ask for help.
Last week was one of those challenging ones, an unscheduled hospitalization as epilepsy reared its ugly head. I spent the week juggling between my full time job in hospice and driving the 78 miles to the hospital to give support to my son. I often call out to my spiritual team for extra help during these times. I have wonderful people in my life who support me, but I know that the world of spirit is also available to buoy me when I feel overwhelmed.
I got home one night to find a message on my answering machine. The number was local but not someone I knew. When I played back the message it was somewhat distorted, but most certainly someone playing the guitar. It was a piece I was not familiar with, a classical one with qualities of Bach perhaps, except in the middle where it broke into an electric guitar riff. It went on as long as my machine would allow ending in the midst of a musical phrase. There were no words, just music. It was lovely, and made me wonder who sent me this gift, a gift of a song after a long day.
I called back the number; it was “out of service”. Of course it was. This was indeed a spiritual gift, a song for my soul from a galaxy far far away.
We are never alone, but we must ask for help.
How heartwarming this surprise in the hour of need! God bless those who sent you this song and made all the difference in that precise moment! ❤
