This isn’t about you, yet and hopefully it never will be. It is definitely not about you if you own a musket, but it’s not even about you with your pretty pink handgun you got for a present and you go to the range to practice with or your loved one that goes hunting and actually consumes the food they kill, no this isn’t about you or them.  This is about those who own assault rifles (minus the military), the name should be enough to ring your bell. Assault-“make a physical attack on”, by the mere definition nothing good and worthy can come from this weapon in the hands of common folk.

So please rethink your stance, it’s not about you, not today, but someday it may be. Someday you may be the one who gets the phone call that a loved one was gunned down by an assault rifle that was legally purchased without a background check and perhaps not even an identification check. You, like so many before you, will reel in disbelief and anguish. Please rethink your stance because someday you may be walking in the shoes of countless families who have already received that call.

Please rethink your stance that guns don’t kill people, because an assault rifle can release 13.3 bullets per second, faster than you can read this sentence. For sure it takes intent but with an assault rifle the intent becomes swift and thoughtless, savage and dark.

Please rethink your stance my friend, because I never want to say I once knew you….

And remember even the Angels only carried swords….
